From a question
Challenge the right thing.
An inaccurate report, prohibited factor, missing notice, and privacy concern need different requests.
Credit-based insurance scores are one part of pricing. Claims, driving records, and driving-behavior data can affect rates separately.
Understand Your Rights →The goal is a supported review and a potentially lower premium. Lawful data use may continue, and a lower rate is not guaranteed.

Your case setup
Local only · no requests sentResidence controls many privacy rights; it may differ from your policy state. Identity documents and account numbers belong in the provider’s official process.
Policy context
Commercial coverage requires a separate review. Personal-auto protections are not assumed to apply; individual consumer reports and business reports must be distinguished.

Contacts checked Oct 25, 2026Only published email routes receive an email file. Portal and mail requests get a text letter and the official route. A named provider here does not mean it holds or sold your data.
Your confirmation log
“Submitted” means you recorded a submission. “Response recorded” means you supplied a response summary. Neither proves every use is blocked. Keep the exact scope and exceptions.

What works today
Rule-specific drafting, editable letters, email files for supported recipients, case import/export, receipt references, response notes, and premium comparison. Your working data stays in this page; downloaded case files are not encrypted.
Automatic delivery
No delivery provider is connected. No letter, email, or freeze is submitted by this app. Hosted automation needs an authenticated sender, a private case store, recipient checks, user authorization, delivery receipts, and failure handling before it can be enabled.
Portal identity verification and signed forms may still require you. A generated draft never counts as a submitted dispute.
Get the rule behind the rate.
Start with the actual underwriting company, policy term,
rating inputs, and filed commercial rating rules.
1. Reconcile the price
Compare total premiums for equivalent policy terms, vehicles, drivers, use, limits, deductibles, fees, and discounts. Monthly payments may also reflect installments, balances, or endorsements.
Prepare Commercial Review →2. Ask about the accident
For an older not-at-fault claim, ask for the date and fault coding, chargeability rule, experience period, discount impact, and filing identifier. A reporting retention period does not determine how long a commercial rating rule may consider a claim. No specific Progressive commercial lookback was verified here.
3. Inspect the filing
IDOI’s general review standards cite IC 27-1-22-3(a)(4) for rates that are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory, and separate filing and consistency provisions. Ask which filed rule and effective date govern your policy.
IDOI Review Standards ↗4. Obtain the information
Progressive’s Indiana privacy notice describes a written review process. Confirm that it applies to your underwriting entity and situation. Ask for outside report providers, available records, and recorded recipients over the prior two years. Its described response period is 30 business days; it is not a commercial re-rating deadline.
Progressive Indiana Notice ↗5. Use the right data rights
Identify whether a report concerns you individually or the business. Obtain the report before disputing a specific error. Freeze, marketing opt-out, deletion, and underwriting access have different scope and exceptions. There is no verified universal insurance-data freeze in this app.
FTC Insurer Guidance ↗6. Escalate with records
IDOI asks consumers to contact the company, agent, or broker first. If the response does not resolve the issue, assemble the decision, applicable filing, supporting records, request, delivery receipt, and response for its complaint process. Minimize personal information; complaints may become public records.
IDOI Complaint Process ↗Commercial loss-history access
IDOI Bulletin 56 describes minimum expectations for commercial insureds with annual premiums above $2,500: a written loss-history request should receive a report within 30 days after receipt. It lists loss dates, descriptions, status, paid amounts, and reserves or aggregate incurred losses. This is a loss-history process, separate from a privacy-notice response clock.
IDOI Bulletin 56 ↗Evidence that makes the next step specific
Current and prior declarations; renewal and billing schedule; endorsements; legal insurer and NAIC number; claim detail showing fault; notices identifying data providers; any actual report errors; and the relevant filed rating rule. This guide is a research starting point, not a verified finding about your policy.
What needs a closer look?
Choose the issues you can describe. You can request records first if you’re unsure.
A map of your data sources.
Start with the sources named by your insurer. These are request routes, not connected accounts.
Keep the original source in view.
A reporting company may repeat an insurer’s claim record or a state driving record. Correcting the underlying record may require a separate request to the insurer or DMV. A consumer-report dispute and a DMV record correction are different processes.
Your next steps, with reasons.
Every route has a source, a factual trigger, and a record checklist.
Track a follow-up
Use confirmed receipt to plan your next check. This page does not send reminders or determine legal noncompliance.
Add a receipt date to calculate a follow-up date.
For the Illinois route, receipt means the insurer received notice of a qualifying FCRA credit correction for a current insured. For disputes, some investigations have a 45-day period. Check the applicable rule before escalating.

A cheaper policy only tells part of the story. Match the coverage before comparing premiums.
Give the numbers context.
Enter two comparable premiums to calculate the difference. This is a calculator; no insurer quotes are connected.
Annualized differences are projections. They are not a refund calculation or proof of realized savings over a full year.
